Important -- Midwest Flooding

I Need Help...

If you or someone that you know has been impacted by this flooding, please seek help through the following organizations:

Iowa - The state has established a Flood Resource Center Web site.  Click here.
Wisconsin - The state is providing information through Wisconsin Emergency Management.  Click here.
Indiana - There is information available through the state Web site.  Click here.
Illinois - Through Ready Illinois, the state is providing flood information.  Click here.
Missouri - The state is providing information through Missouri Emergency Management.  Click here.

I Want to Donate...

The most urgent need at this time is for monetary donations.  Donations made to Lutheran Disaster Response that are designated for Flood Response will be used in full -- 100% -- for this response, and donations can be made by mail, by phone, or on the Web.  For more information about donating in response to this disaster, click here.  Also, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be matching gifts by members ($1 for every $2 given by Thrivent members).  For information on giving through this program, please contact your local chapter representative.

In most cases, material donations are less of a need following disaster because they can be difficult to transport, difficult to store, and difficult to distribute.  However, if you would like to make an in-kind donation of materials, such as water, canned food, or clothing, please click here to reach the Aidmatrix Network.

I Want to Volunteer...

The impact of this flooding is widespread, and the need for volunteers will be long-term.  As volunteer opportunities become available, we will be listing them on the Volunteer section of our Web site.  Need for volunteers is limited at this point to people in the general vicinity who can drive in and out for the day, and you must contact someone in the area before traveling.  DO NOT SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED... YOU WILL ONLY BE A BURDEN TO THE RECOVERY!  Please continue to monitor this site for more information.
