Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is a collaborative ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA.org) and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS.org). Following a major domestic disaster, LDR seeks to minister holistically to the unmet needs of those affected, regardless of faith or creed. Lutheran social ministry organizations serve as LDR affiliates providing:

     [4] Long-term Recovery

Keeping an eye on Gustav, Hanna

The 2008 Atlantic hurricane season is in full swing, and two storm systems -- Gustav and Hanna -- are currently building strength in the Caribbean and Atlantic, respectively.  As we track the progress and severity of these storms, it is likely that funds will be needed to help in the rebuilding efforts that follow a major hurricane.  To give to the 2008 Hurricane Response fund, click here.
