For a congregation that is already an important
part of their community before a disaster happens, it can be a major

Some ways that you can serve your
community:
- Extending pre-existing
congregational social ministries to help individuals and
families affected by the disaster (e.g. food pantry, clothes
closet, etc.)
- Providing hospitality to outside
volunteers who arrive to help the wider community.
- Opening church buildings as a
shelter, meeting place, or storage for disaster response
organizations.
